The event is a family friendly concert at Water Works Park from 3pm-7pm. There will be face painting, food trucks, raffles, games, live music, and even a bouncy house!
All this fun and cheerfulness is to bring awareness to the fact that kids grieve the loss of loved ones. The proceeds of the raffles will be going to Suncoast Kids’ Place. This non-profit organization holds group sessions to teach and assist children and their families through the grieving process.
“Most children will have experienced the death of a loved one by the end of high school, some much sooner. The Center recognizes that children's grief is unique, and that grief ignored, can cause difficulties later in life: physically, emotionally and behaviorally. Unresolved grief in children and teens can cause depression, violence, truancy, eating disorders, alcoholism, drug abuse, anxiety and suicide.” (Suncoast Kid’s Place)
By providing a safe, caring, fun atmosphere for sharing emotions, Suncoast Kid's Place helps provide support so that families may continue their lives with hope, confidence and strength.
