While it may not seem like much to the outside observer, as an insider, seeing the ups and downs of a very eclectic group of 20 something's, this event was nothing short of monumental. Complete with an extensive list of requirements and deadlines necessary for hosting an event at a city park, added to the normal challenges of hosting a benefit concert, this event definitely pushed us to our limits. And the DCNoise team responded with nothing short of excellence. But what is most impressive to me about this last week's achievement is that a group of 10-12 volunteer staff, ranging from the youngest team member being 18 to the oldest staffer being 26, pulled it off with the grace and prowess of a group of seasoned professionals.
Add to all of that the fact SKP was able to connect with two new families who will be joining SKP's support network!
Needless to say, the event was worth every moment of stress and frustration accrued during the planning process. We have gained so much in the way of administration and even discipleship through this process, and we are very excited for what the future holds for this organization! I am so blessed to be playing the small roll I play in this truly amazing group of passionate young adults.
At this years CGAD Festival, I saw what it meant to live as Christ, to be His hands and feet in a broken world. What an inspiration!
